Matthew 7:20-23      ‘Jesus, Help Me Understand What You Are Saying’

 Will there be surprises in heaven?  Will they be pleasant and happy?

The answers Jesus gives us in the Sermon on the Mount today are both yes and no!

Here's how Jesus wants to help us have 'happy surprises' in heaven!

First, The true follower of Jesus Christ will be producing evidences that show they are Christ followers...they will exhibit:

1. the Fruit of the Holy Spirit: Gal.  5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control

2. the Fruit of the lips, testimony and praise to God  Heb. 13:15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise-- the fruit of lips that confess his name.

3. holy living: Romans 6:22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.

4. good works  Colossians 1:10-12    Col 1:10 And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light

5. lost souls won to Jesus:  Rom. 1 :13, 16   I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes:

        “Professing Christians may be involved in religious activities and pretend to be saved, but if they are honestly orn again, they will reveal these fruits in daily life…                                                  Note…”counterfeits” are surprised at the judgment! It is possible to fool ourselves!

Satan blinds the mind, [2 Cor. 4:3,4 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.] and deceives people into thinking they are saved. When Christ returns, many  professing Christians will be surprised to find out they were never saved at all!”  Warren Wiersbe

……..Jesus word to the disciples: Be surprised now [and make the needed corrections] instead of later!

     *Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.                                                                                            *“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. Acts 16:31        *"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”  John 3:16

  *Joel 2:32 And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the LORD has said, among the survivors whom the LORD calls.

 *Acts 2:21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'                                                             

  *Romans 10:9,10, 11 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.                                                                                                                                                                                                                       

   *Romans 10:13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
